They Don’t Pay for That

They want working class catechisms

who tell me to write in simple terms

when we pray each day that dumb one called out,

and they ask every evening why we bothered at all

always to blame for thinking beyond our stations

or voting against our interests

 

You know we’d read out for the gasping

the grunt sonnet of everyman

but they don’t pay for that

and by they we mean you
